REFEREE ABUSE

‘Referee Abuse’

The league has lost two referees over the last couple of weeks. There has been a noticeable increase with regards to the abuse that the league referees have been getting and this has unfortunately resulted in two of the leagues referees, no longer officiating within the TSFL. One of the referees concerned was confronted whilst out shopping at Tesco's and was told by a player what he thought of him. This is totally unacceptable behaviour, either on or away from the pitch. The referee concerned has now left the league after being a referee for 13 years.

All players and team officials need to be aware that anyone reported for such behaviour will be severely dealt with under the league rules.
We do not have the luxury of a large amount of referees within our league. Losing referees will only affect the amount of games having an official appointed to the game. Teams reported for not treating him with the respect he deserves will be the first to not get a referee when we do not have enough to cover all the games. Please respect the referee. Without them you will not get the game you deserve.

PARKING & PEGS

This subject has cropped up before, but the League need to remind players and supporters to please park responsibly at all council grounds, but in particular at Birchington and at Jackey Bakers.

Some cars have parked in front of the main gates which could prevent or delay an ambulance reaching a pitch in an emergency, and at Birchington some residents have been unable to use their own cars due to players and supporters cars being abandoned behind them and blocking them in.

The police will be called to issue tickets to cars that block the gateway and access areas to any council grounds.

For those clubs that use council "self help" pitches, you must ensure you have your own set of net pegs. The council don't supply them for you. Your'll find there's a number of suppliers of net-pegs on google and by typing in football equipment.

PLAYERS DATA

Something else that is new on the website this season is the ability for you to view the dates when your players have played matches.

This information can be viewed by going to your club homepage.

A maximum of 3 league games will be shown along with 1 game in each of the leagues cup competitions.

If a player transfers to you and is ineligible for a cup competion, the date he played for his previous club will be shown in red against that cup competion.

IF THIS SERVICE IS VIEWED PERIODICALLY, THERE SHOULD BE NO REASON FOR PLAYERS PLAYING WHEN INELIGIBLE.

THIS DATA WILL ALSO ALLOW YOU TO SEE WHICH OF YOUR PLAYERS HAVE PLAYED IN 3 MATCHES MAKING THEM ELIGIBLE FOR CUP SEMI-FINALS AND FINALS
